				      <title>Wednesday, August 27th, 2008 - Eastern Hillsides/WesternSkies</title>
				      <link>http://calendar.theuppervalley.net/events/index.php&#63;com=detail&amp;eID=1009</link>
<description>The opening of new work by Linda Wilson, entitled Eastern Hillsides/Western Skies, begins on Saturday, July 5 runs through Friday, August 29. The opening reception on Friday, July 11 @ 5&#8212;7PM. In 2001, Linda resumed painting after a twenty&#8212;five year hiatus.

She began with the medium of acrylics and took up oils in 2006. While much of what she paints is representational of specific places, she likes the unknown arriving with each brushstroke. The ensuing creation, no matter how it was imagined, is unexpected in some fundamental aspect—a reminder that each moment is new and unknown. Landscapes and personal narrative imagery are currently common subjects for her paintings.
