NOVA KIM & LES HOOK were featured guests of the 2005 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Washington, DC; presenters on Wild Resources, Terre Madre 2006, the Slow Food World Meeting of Food Communities, Turin, Italy; participants in the 2007 Native Food Summit, Santa Fe, NM; and the 2008 Slow Food RAFT (Renewing American Food Traditions) Conference, Vermont; etc. Les was born and raised on a farm in central Vermont.
