Whose Decision Is It? Legal and Financial Issues and Answers
Leader: Tracy M. Culberson, Esq.
Making medical or financial decisions for ourselves is difficult enough, but what if we find ourselves in a situation where we are being asked to make such decisions for someone else? Where do we get the authority to admit someone to a nursing home when they don't want to go? How do we stop a parent with dementia from sending all of their money to a bogus charity? What happens to the house? These are difficult and stress-inducing questions and they usually come at a time when you are least able to cope with them. This workshop will provide you with a down-to-earth overview of options that are available to you and your loved ones when it becomes apparent that tough decisions need to be made. The workshop will explore such topics as guardianships, powers of attorney, and other legal options that may be the right fit for your particular set of circumstances. This program is offered in partnership with the NH Alzheimer's Association.
