A Vermont Humanities Council lecture hosted by Norwich Public Library and Norwich Historical Society
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ron Powers will read from Senator Edward Kennedy's memoir, True Compass, and share stories of the late senator. Ron Powers served as Senator Kennedy's collaborator on True Compass. He will
give a reading from the book and share a few anecdotes and impressions of the late senator. True Compass debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list on September 26, and is currently No. 3. Powers is a Pulitzer Prize winner and the author of Mark Twain: A Life and Tom and Huck Don't Live Here Anymore: Childhood and Murder in the Heart of America. In addition to writing, he has taught for the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, the Salzburg Seminar in Salzburg, Austria, and at Middlebury College. Mr. Powers is also a commentator for Vermont Public Radio.
